Favorite old Doll

My Youngest Daughter found her for me a few years ago at a thrift store. She washed her outfit and gave her to me for Christmas. Notice she put the hat on backwards. I left it that way. Pretty funny.

1889 Edition of Eight Cousins

This was My Grandma's book. Its pretty fragil but I love having it. I have read Little Women, but I was thinking I don't recall ever reading Eight Cousins. I have the Childrens copy from when I was little, right in the bookcase next to the Bobbsey Twins and Honey Bunch, but I don't think I read it. So I just might read it now.

More Buttons for my Collection

The girl at the Thrift store saves buttons for me, and when I was there yesterday she gave me a big bag for .99 cents. As you can see I sorted out the more interesting ones, I keep those in a big wooden bowl in the living room.

Lighted Snow man

Got this little guy from a fund raiser for my Grand daughters soft ball. Most of the stuff you get from these fund raisers aren't all that nice. But I really like this snowman. He has a battery and when on turns red, then green then blue. The other things in the picture are from Karen Cox over at 'SCRAPBOOK OF INSPIRATION".Don't know how to do the link. Its amazing that I even have a blog.

Old Family Christmas Decor.

This belonged to Richard's Aunts. My Guess is the 1930's or 40s. It has a real nice feel to it, just different from anything made now.

I made this Today.

To much Coffee again?? Maybe, but I found myself downstairs waiting for the dryer to finish and started looking at my craft stuff and ended up making this. The old postcard is just machine sewed on. I made a pocket, thats why I put the little pine in it so you could see that. The jewelry piece was from my thrift store collection., very high end don't ya know.

More Papers in the Hat Box

I mixed up the papers in the Hat Box. Funny thing is I like the papers so much I don't want to use them. Better get over that or my crafting days are done.
Any good ideas on what I could do with the Indian box cover? It would have been nice to have the whole box but it didn't happen that way. I really like that picture.

The storm is here.

No the picture is not out of focus, the wind has been blowing all day. Up to 60 miles per hour. Guess this is going to keep going until sometime tomorrow. Sooo if any one would like to come by I will be right here.

Front porch

The porch has a roof, so this is just blowing snow.

Big Hat Box of Papers

This big Hat Box from the thrift store that I got a while back has been a good place to put all the interesting bits of paper and pictures I find, or cut out.Love the picture of the man with the horse. So when I want to make a card or some other craft this is where I look first.

From a Local Scrapbook I Found at a flea Market

These were things from a college near here. The two little books are Dance books. I forgot what they were called. You know where you sign up to dance with a girl. I wonder when they went out of style? And how depressing if no one signed your book.

Now I can only see stars

I took so many pictures of the tree, its hard with the lights to get a good picture. My eyes should be fine in a few days. HA.

Close up Picture of tree

Wanted to show this up close because some of my blog friends gave me some of the ornaments.

The Christmas Tree

I don't think I needed to tell you its a Christmas tree but it is. Put it up yesterday. Kind of late this year, but now we have it.

Sleigh and raindeer.

My Aunt Glenda made this years ago and gave it to me. They must have been popular because I have seen other ones. The picture is me and my two oldest, boy that was awhile ago.

Flea Market finds this morning

I went to an indooor flea market this morning and picked these two things up. There was a lot of things there I would have liked but I behaved myself. I haven't had a chance to look at the scrap book yet, but it has a lot of papers that weren't put in, those I might use for my own scrap booking. The little sewing basket came with all the buttons.

Did a little Baking.

Made a yummy apple crisp and some sugar cookies. The candy which I might add is also yummy the kids gave to me.

Re-did one of my craft cupboards.

One of these day Richard is going to make a big area just for all my do -dads. I have a nice sewing area but it would be nice to have a better craft place. I see so many nice set ups in the 'WHERE WOMEN CREATE" Magazine. Maybe it would have been better if I had never heard of that Magazine. I'm sure Richard would agree. ha.Anyway for now I have this cupboard, and a dresser and a trunk and a teired shelf and a small hutch.

Cloudy out, suspose to get some snow.

My plants will just have to have a long nap today, not much sun. The weathermen, said we could get a fair amount of snow.

You Can't Go Home

I have posted this picture of the farm I was brought up on before, but this time of year I think of it more. It was built in the 1850's and burned to the ground in the early 1990's See my playhouse in the middle of the yard? The other little building is the outhouse. Yes we had indooor plumbing, but the outhouse came in real handy sometimes.
The veiw on the big picture is the back of the house, airplane couldn't do the front because of the big trees. So The other picture shows the front. Don't know if you can see it by clicking on the picture, but I'm standing up by the barn with my dad watching the plane.

Scrap books from E'BAY

I won these a few weeks ago. Took a few pictures of the insides. I wonder if I should leave them as they are or use them for crafts? I only took a few pictures for here but as you can see the books are pretty good size and every page is full.

Doll Chair and Wooden Duck

I got these last week at the thrift store. Hard to resist a cute little chair. The duck is heavy with nice carvings on it. Wish I knew if it was hand made or not. No markings on it.

Gifts From My Friend Mary Beth

What a fun gift this is. And for My Birthday. Thank you Mary Beth. The cute musulin Rag doll, a nice old postcard, a little purse and a pretty tin. There was also in the box but not pictured, two cups that I collect and a little bell and cookbook. Mary Beth has sent me the nicest collection of old postcards over the last few years. Well this was a real nice treat.

19I5 Edition of Little Women

Ordered this used on Amazon. Thought I would re-read it. I don't think I have read the book since I was, well, a long time ago. I think I mostly remember the movies. Usually a lot more going on in the book version. And I like old books.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL.

lOVE THESE MAGAZINES

A bit on the pricy side, well alot on the pricy side but so much to look at and learn. These I bought new, but since I like them so much I ordered a few back issues at a much lower rate. They should be here in a few days. I have about wore these out looking at them.

The Paper Bag.

Now That I have made one I want to make more. Can someone tell me how to paper dye those hang tags? I have one that has been soaking in coffee and vanilla all night and it doesn't look much different.

Paper Bag Craft was Fun.

Just a few things I made. The paper bag I sewed on the machine to make the pocket. Forgot all about sewing on paper, I bet if I think about it there are a lot of paper ideas to sew.The snow picture in the middle I really liked. But the more I look at it I think they are in a cemetery. Not exactly the most cheerful thing for this time of year. But it is a pretty picture.
